Helius Medical Technologies Reported Results for its Portable Neuromodulation Stimulator (PoNS) Therapy in Patients Suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

- The study evaluates the occupational performance & durabale Return-to-Work (RTW) status in patients (n=9) with TBI receiving the PoNS Therapy for a duration of 6mos. while patients perform rehabilitation exercises
- The results showed that 56% of the patients RTW, 80% returned to their prior full-time jobs for at least 6mos., 67% showed improvement in their balance & gait, in 89% balance & gait did not affect RTW & of patients facing headaches as a prevention to RTW, 50% reported a reduction in headache intensity
- PoNS is an orally applied therapy that delivers neurostimulation (to the tongue) through a controlled mouthpiece & is used with physical rehabilitation exercises, to improve balance & gait
